Medical experts to brainstorm at HEWAN symposium

Medical experts in key public and private areas of the health industry will tomorrow, March 3 , 2017 , at health Writers Association of Nigeria (HEWAN) symposium deliberate on salient issues of healthcare delivery in Nigeria .

According to a press statement by the president of the association , Chioma Obinna , the symposium which is the 7th of the annual event of the association would be held at the Surgical Skills Centre, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH by 9am.

With the theme: “Mental Health in A Recessed Economy” the symposium has as its Guest lecturer the Acting Medical Director, Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba, Dr. Richard Adebayo.

Other topics for presentation at the event are “Disease Outbreaks: The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Experience”, by the CEO, NCDC, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu; and “The Burden of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria” presented by Director General, NACA, Dr. Sani Aliyu.

Among other dignitaries expected at the event are the chairman of the event , the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, and the chief host ; the Chief Medical Director of LUTH, Prof Chris Bode.
