We Will Support LASU to Facilitate Research Studies– LASG

Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assured  Lagos State University, Ojo of its continuous support to facilitate research studies in the State.

Sanwo-Olu stated this at the First Lagos State University research fair and commissioning of its model Computer Based Test (CBT) Centre held at the institution with the theme “Driving National Development through Research and Innovation”.

The Governor, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Education, Barr. Tokunbo Wahab, charged the institution to play an important role in the State’s innovation, ecosystem and economics by fostering entrepreneurship as well as promoting diversity and inclusion.

He also requested the University to proffer research-based solutions to the six pillars of the development agenda of the present administration’s T.H.E.M.E.S (Traffic Management & Transportation, Health & Environment, Education & Technology, Entertainment & Tourism, Security and Governance).

He opined that the research fair will bring about innovative solutions which will make LASU develop patents, spin-off companies and become a globally renowned university in the near future.

On his part, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lanre Fagbohun described research as the catalyst and veritable tool for national development and pledged to collaborate with the government and private sector to develop solutions to the problems in Nigeria through research.
