The ban follows the presidential directive limiting all vehicle imports to Nigeria sea ports only. This prohibition is part of the ongoing prohibitions which include the rice ban which has been in effect since April 2016.

Importers of vehicles through the land borders have been asked to make use of the remaining time till New Year’s Eve to clear up their vehicle imports in neighbouring ports.
