Nation’s Stock Market Increases slightly by 0.01 percent

The Nigerian Stock Exchange showed a marginal increase by 0.01 percent on Monday due to cautious trading by investors.

Comparably, the market capitalization which opened at N8.855 trillion rose by a billion to close at N8.856 trillion.

The price movement chart showed that Total had the highest gain with N25.35 to close at N276.15 per share followed by Forte Oil with an increase of N6.68 to close at N71.94 and Nigerian Breweries gathering N1.94 to close at N145 per share.

However, Guinness had the lowest gain losing N8.67 to close at N80.33 per share; it was followed by Nestle and Lafarge Wapco.

In all, investors bought and sold a total of N175.06 million shares valued at N3.14 billion achieved in 3,048 deals against a turnover of 576.85 million shares valued at N1.35 billion exchanged in 2,258 deals on Friday.
