Stock Exchange capitalization declines by N120 billion

Activities on the floor of the exchange has resumed for the week on a weak note.

Today’s activities also mark the beginning of activities on the floor of the exchange for the month of July.

The All Share Index closed today at 32,769.80 basis points as against previous closing of33,117.48 basis points, thereby falling by 347.68 basis points.

The market capitalization on the other hand closed today at 11,332 trillion Naira as compared to Friday’s closing of 11,452 trillion Naira, thereby declining by 120 billion Naira.

In today’s activities, the exchange fell by -1.05 per cent as 1.62 million shares were traded in 3,488 deals worth 1.5 billion Naira.

Today’s decline is reflected also across boards as all but two indices depreciated.

While NSE ASeM INDEX closed flat at  1,174.61 basis points, NSE Insurance Index appreciated to close at 138.34 basis points as against Friday’s closing of 137.86 basis points.

GAINERS

The top three gainers for today’s market are; Honeywell Flour Mill Plc, PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc And Livestock Feeds Plc.

HONEYWELL FLOUR MILL PLC gained by 0.17 kobo or 9.66 per cent to close at N1.93 per share, P Z CUSSONS NIGERIA PLC gained by N1.43 6.24 per cent to close at N24.35 per share while LIVESTOCK FEEDS PLC gained 0.05 kobo or 5.26 per cent to close at N1.00 per share.

LOSERS

The top three losers are; May & Baker Nigeria Plc, 7-Up Bottling Comp. Plc And Unity Bank Plc.

While MAY & BAKER NIGERIA PLC led the fall by 0.37 kobo or 9.54 per cent to close at N3.51 per share, 7-UP BOTTLING COMP. PLC followed right after with a decline of N8.24 or 9.53 per cent to close at N78.21 per share. UNITY BANK PLC made the third top loser by 0.06 kobo or 8.96 per cent fall to close at 0.61 kobo.
