Minister, MAN President, Dangote, others for CICAN symposium

Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Okechukwu Enelamah; President, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote as well as President, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN, Dr Frank Udemba Jacobs are
expected to grace the symposium of Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria, CICAN, designed to appraise the growth and development of the nation’s industrial sector. Tagged, ‘’25 Years of Incisive Industry Reporting; the Gains, the
Pains’’, the symposium would among other things x-ray the challenges affecting the real sector of the nation’s economy while highlighting achievements recorded so far.
Resource persons drawn from private and public sectors of the economy would speak on some topical issues, including ‘Financing Industrial Sector for Economic Development’’,  “Training and Retraining of
Manpower for Economic Growth’’ and ‘’How to maximize the Gains of the
Industrial Sector ‘among others.
Beyond this, CICAN would also recognize captains of industry, who have
contributed immensely to the development and growths of the industrial sector by inducting them in its hall of fame.
Endorsed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment; the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria; the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Mines as well as Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the symposium would also attract some industry
operators, who would appraise industrial milestones in the last 25 years.
CICAN, an umbrella body of specialized media practitioners, drawn from print, electronic and online media, started its industrial reporting in 1992, thus making it 25 years of covering the all-important sector of the nation’s economy.
The event, which would take place at Sheraton Hotels and Towers on
October 4, would among other things witness the past leaders of the
association as well as industry stakeholders from different walks of life.
