ACCA Advocates Good Ethical Conduct,  Professionalism

No Comments Share:

As part of activities to mark the Global Ethics Day, which held on 18th October 2017, we at ACCA emphasize the importance of ethics and
professionalism in both international and local spheres.
For the business community in Nigeria, we believe that the wider value of ethical behaviour should be a 24-7, 365 concern.
A decade on from the global financial crisis, communities and individuals are still living with the social and economic impacts of
ethical failure.
Professional ethics goes beyond risk management and compliance. When
upheld, they are the foundation stone of trust and exchange. This is why all those involved in professional education have a duty to make sure individuals are equipped to apply the highest standards ethical judgement throughout their careers in a fast-moving world.
This informs the commitment of ACCA to the current process of unveiling a series of evolutions in our qualifications, including a
new Ethics & Professional Skills module.
We at ACCA recognize that we have a public duty to promote ethics beyond the boundaries of regulated professionals.
Doing the right thing is everyone’s responsibility and, from the CEO
down to the least personnel, any one has the capacity to tarnish by acting unethically.
In this digital age, we depend more than ever on the support of the wider business community to help uphold these standards. That is why we ask all stakeholders to join ACCA in recommitting to ensuring
business players do the right thing and serve as a force for good as expected.
