Sen  T. A. Orji Empowers Over 1000 Farmers, Youths

The Senator representing Abia Central Senatoral Zone, Dr. Theodore. A. Orji has empowered over 1000 farmers and many thousands artisans, to enable them get out of poverty state.
His Media Adviser Don  Norman Obinna who disclosed this in Lagos while having a round table discussion with National Association of Agricultural Journalists ( NAAJ) on Tuesday.
Obinna stated that Sen  Orji has vowed to continue to assist members of his constituency to live a meaniful live by getting out of poverty state.
He also disclosed that his boss has provided three motorized boreholes to some communities in his constituency to enable the farmers carryout farming all year round.
He said, ” Senator T. A. Orji has provided three motorized boreholes to ensure the farmers get water for their farming all years round. Many of us will not appreciate this gesture till the times of harvesting next year”.
 He added that the farmers being assisted by Orji were into piggry, poultry, fish farming and other farming.
He also  provided fertilizers to nurish hecres of lands in his constituency to boosts the harvest of the farmers .
In his speech, Obinna disclosed that sen  Orji has also given out credit facility to the farmers and the artisans empowered, ranging from N250,000, N500,000, N750,000 to as much as N2,million, to enable them to boost their farming. The farmers were also provided with sowing machines, motor cycles, tricycles, branding machines and three 18 seater buses, wheelchairs to the physically challenged and other assistances to all the youths of the six LGAs that made up of Abia Central Senatorial District.
Obinna stressed that the people of the senatorial district were very proud of the efforts of the senator, as according to him has sponsored 8 bills, one of the bill has been signed to law, one other is awaiting the president signature while six other of the bills were in various stages, adding that the bills when sign into law will assist Nigerians to have a better life free from hunger, poverty and other challenges  .
In infrastructure, Obinna said the senator had facilitated the rehabilitation of the Umuahia–Ikot Ekpene road adding that the construction of roads in the constituency including Atta /Emeke/ Nkporo, Umuakanu road in Emenke Ibeku community, Umuahia North, Umuagu road with a link bridge built were in progress.

According to him, many communities have been connected to the national grid including the Ahiaba Okpala, Isiala Mvosi – Amagu communities, all in Isiala Ngwa south and another in Umudike in Umuahia.

The media assistant also disclosed that over 480 students of the constituency had benefited from the first phase of the senator Theodor Orji Annual Scholarship Scheme spread across the six Local Government Areas of the zone, including an indigent blind person.

“We did a survey on what we lose on the road, we realized that annually, Abia state losses about N3 billion because that is the only road that connects Abia state and Akwa Ibom state, what Senator Orji did, immediately he became a senator was to call the attention of the Federal Government since there was no previous plan on ground to build the road”.

“Himself and the Honourable member for Ikwuano/Umuahia in the Federal House of Representative, contacted Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), and Works Minister who inspected the road and promised they were not going to fix the road now but would carry out a palliative measure. Today, the road is motorable”, he explained adding that movement from Abia state to Akwa Ibom state had been made easy.
