SAHCOL GETS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR, 3 EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

The Board of Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL) has appointed Mr. Basil Agboarumi as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company. Mrs. Boma Ukwunna, General Manager Cargo Services, Mr. Olaniyi Adigun, Sales and Marketing and Mr. Babatunde Afolabi, Information Technology and Business Development were also elevated to the position of Executive Director.
Agboarumi holds a National Diploma (OND) in Mass Communication from the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, a Masters in Communication Studies (Mcs) from the Lagos State University and a Certificate in Creative Design and a Digital Communication from the School of Media and Communication of the Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos.
Basil joined the SAHCOL then a subsidiary of the Nigerian Airways Limited, as the Pioneer Staff/Head of the Public Affairs Unit. After the privatization and subsequent takeover of Skypower Aviation Handling Company Limited by the SIFAX Group in 2009, he was appointed Head of Corporate Communications, with a mandate to spearhead the rebranding of the new Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited. He was later elevated to the position of General Manager in 2014 in charge of Corporate Communications and Information Technology department, providing leadership for day to day operations of the unit until his recent appointment.
Babatunde Afolabi is a graduate of Computer Engineering from the University of Ottawa, Canada in 2015. He has extensive technical skills in Information Technology spanning programming languages, database, scripts, web designing, design tools and operating systems.

He commenced his career during his undergraduate study as a User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) developer at Kraneum Technology Boston, Massachusetts from 2012 to 2016 where he collaborated with design team members to define and develop new product concepts, performed minor software and interface testing, developed mobile applications and front-end for web applications; thereby demonstrating his mastery of different computer languages.

During this time, he also undertook an Industrial Training with Sifax Shipping Limited from 2012 to 2013 where he assisted in the management of the IT Department, including database hardware maintenance and technical assistance.

He subsequently worked with Sentinel Consulting Toronto, Canada from 2016 to 2017 as a Database Analyst following which he moved to Giatec Scientific, Ontario as a Quality Assurance (“QA”) Analyst in 2017.

MRS Boma Ukwunna, the new Executive Director, Cargo Services and Operations is a 1997 graduate of Mass Communications in Delta State University, Abraka. She holds a special Executive Master’s program in Business Administration which she obtained in 2011 from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom. She is a fellow of the Ports and Terminal Management Academy of Nigeria and member of Nigeria Institute of Shipping. She commenced her career at SIFAX in 2001 and served in various capacities within the SIFAX Group including Group Head, billing and commercial at SIFAX RoRo Terminal Apapa (2007-2010); Group Head Procurement (2010-2011); Special Assistant to the Group Executive Chairman on Operations matter (2011-2012) and Head of Administration, Port and Cargo Services(2012-2013). Prior to her move to SAHCOL, she was the General Manager SIFAX Bonded Terminal ‘B’ from 2013 to 2014.
Boma Ukwunna joined SAHCOL in 2014.
Olaniyi Adigun, Executive Director Sales and Marketing holds a B.Ed. Economics from the University of Port Harcourt in 1990 and Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Marketing) in 19197 from the Lagos State University. He commenced his career in 19193 with Nigeria Airways Limited as a Cabin Executive and eventually became a Marketing Officer within the Airline Sales and Marketing Department. In 2001, he joined Skypower Aviation Handling Company Limited and was tasked with establishing the Marketing Department at the company.
During the time at Skypower Aviation Handling Company Limited, he functioned in several capacities including Station Manager, Domestic Operations; Regional Manager (WEST) and Head of Corporate Development. Following the acquisition of Skypower Aviation Handling Company Limited and subsequent takeover of the company’s operations by Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited, he was appointed General Manager, Sales and Marketing.
He has attended many professional courses both International and domestic which includes IATA Station Ground Handling Management, Geneva; IATA Dangerous Goods , Singapore; IATA Cargo Marketing, Geneva; Strategic Marketing Management.

SAHCOL is an Aviation Ground Handling company, offering services in Passenger Handling, Ramp Handling, Cargo Handling and Warehousing, Aviation Security, Baggage Reconciliation, Crew Bus and Executive Lounge Services and other related Ground Handling Services.
