FAAN To Close Lagos Airport Domestic Runway 18L/36R Today July 8 To Install Airfield Lighting

FAAN To shut MMIA runway for 3 months to install lighting system - Core News
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has concluded arrangements to complete the installation of CAT III Airfield Ground Lighting system on Runway 18L/36R.
According to statement issued by the
Ag. General Manager, Corporate Affair, Mrs. Faithful Hope-Ivbaze, said that it is part of efforts aimed at improving  safety and efficiency of flight operations at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos.
The project, which will commence effectively today ; Friday, July 8, 2022, is expected to last for 90 days.
Consequently, Runway 18L/36R will be closed to flight operations during this time.
The statement informed stakeholders that there will be no disruption as all normal flight operations will be conducted through runway 18R/36L.
It added that a Notice to Air Men(NOTAM)  has already been published and disseminated accordingly.
