The National Pension Commission (PenCom) in Nigeria says it has finalized arrangements to commence the verification of prospective retirees who would be retiring in year 2019 from the public service.

The Commission’s Acting Director General, Mrs. Aisha Dahir-Umar disclosed this today in Lagos in her opening remarks at the sensitization Pre-Retirement Workshop organized for intending 2019 retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).

Mrs. Dahir-Umar, who was represented at the event by the Head, Benefits & Insurance Department, Mrs. Ekanem Aikhomu said the verification exercise was scheduled to be undertaken from June 25 to August 17, 2018 in 15 centersacross the country.

She added that the impending exercise was part of the commission’s annual regulatory activities and was whatnecessitated the need to undertake adequate sensitization and public enlightenment in order to prepare prospective retirees on the steps to take towards a hitch free retirement life
