The Presidential Committee on North-East (PCNI) has sacked its Borno Manager, Mr. Kyari Pindar Mshelia, over an allegation that he blew the whistle on the diversion of relief items and educational materials meant for schools in North-East.

PRNigeria reliably learnt that, Kyari Mshelia, who is PCNI’s Program Manager, is not responsible for exposing the latest scandal of materials’ diversion by senior PCNI officials.

However, Kyari had previously, through official channels raised concern on corrupt and fraudulent activities at the Federal Government inaugurated humanitarian agency.

Kyari and one other staff were wrongly fingered by top management staff of PCNI of being the sources of leaked information on corrupt practices in the agency.

The PCNI Director of Administration, Hajiya Amina Maibe was allegedly linked to the diversion of educational materials supplied for teachers and students of some selected secondary schools in Borno.

The ugly development resulted in a protest by a group of teachers at Government Secondary School Maiduguri last week.

Meanwhile, Prof. Hauwa Biu, PCNI member at a meeting with staff in Maiduguri said the Presidency was disturbed about the scandal and that police have been mandated to
launch an investigation on the matter, as well as to identify the school principals and teachers who led the demonstrations and also to fish out the staff who exposed the incident.

Subsequently, Mr. Tijjani Tumsa, PCNI Vice Chairman, who is an in-law to Haijya Maibe, stormed Maiduguri on Friday. After an emergency meeting to resolve the case, Tumsa swiftly dismissed Kyari on suspicion of leaking the scandals in the agency to the media.

He also ordered him to delete all documents in his laptop and hand over PCNI’s properties at his disposal to the Administrative Director.

Meanwhile, the other officer, Ibrahim Goni Machina was spared as he was giving a warning.
