The  National Chairman of  the People’s Democrats Party (PDP), Alhaji Umar Damagun has said that the party is re-inventing strategies  for restoration  of the party’s lost glory and actualization of victory  in the 2025 to stop Governor Soludo’s second term bid.

Speaking at a mini-rally of the party held at her Udoka Housing Estate Headquarters in Awka, weekend, Damagun debunked  the insinuation that the party is in crisis, stressing that the last crisis which  trailed the party in the build up to the 2021 Governorship  poll has been resolved.

According to him, the mammoth turnout is a reflection of genuine resolve of the party faithful to put behind them the crisis occasioned  by poor outing in the last governorship election.

Represented by the National Auditor of the party, Obi Okechukwu, the national chairman admitted that PDP, like other parties, had crisis in the build up of the last gubernatorial election which  he agreed had adverse effect on  the outcome of the 2021 Governorship election, assuring that the fence-mending and other reconciliatory  measures being taken will put the party in a better performance stead.

Former Minister  for Women Affairs, Chief (Mrs)  Josephine Anenih, in her remarks, observed that the crisis in PDP occasioned the divisions along the line of personality leanings and expressed happiness that the pervading peace  and unity  will ensure the party’s  victory in 2025.

She noted that local council polls have always remained the yardstick for winning the state and National Assembly elections and called on party members to gird their loins to ensure PDP achieves  victory in the forthcoming polls, preparatory to the 2025 Governorship election.

Earlier in his address, the state Caretaker Committee   Chairman of PDP, Chigozie Igwe, lamented that the best the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) under Prof. Chukwuma Soludo  is recording in the state is  “lower than the Anambra standard of governance and not moving at the pace the state has been moving,” adding that the members of the public have been intimidated into silence.

He said that during the last workers’ protest, it was discovered that the workers in the state are the least paid in the country,  noting that while Labour Party (LP) is not a threat despite winning the  last National Assembly elections based on bandwagon effect of Peter Obi’s Presidential contest,  APGA-led administration has not lived  up to expectation in the state, just as the  All Progressives Congress (APC) is infested with alleged failures at the federal level.

The caretaker committee boss said the people of the state are shopping for an alternative party structure which he said PDP is ready to provide,  adding  that the security architecture in the state  has failed  purporting  countless killings in the state.

According to him, no fewer than 200 known and unknown kidnappings and killings in the state occur without the knowledge of the public.

Igwe further hinted of the the local council tour being planned in the next few days, stressing that PDP has activated its structure in readiness to anticipated victory in the 2025 Governorship election.
