IIori Sets EPIC Goals For Her CIIN Term, Beacons All To Attain

The in-coming President/Chairman of Council, Chartered  Insurance Institute of Nigeria CIIN, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori has set EPIC order for her tenure which would be driven by the theme, “Igniting the bedrock of our envisioned industry.”
Ilori unveiled her theme to be actualised under the agenda summarised in a four-letter acronym EPIC to include, Education, Professionalism, Institution and Capacity, at the pre investiture press briefing held today at the CIIN headquarters at Ebute-Metta, Yaba Lagos.
The incoming President who is encouraged by this saying “So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.” She rests her oars on this confident that the arduous task ahead is attainable.
She said “EPIC was chosen after taking a critical look at our industry, assessing where we are and where we should be. This acronym encapsulates our commitment to Education, Professionalism, Institutional Recognition and Capacity Building within and outside the insurance industry.”
On the education front Ilori said among others the Institute would under cover of digital revolution reach new audiences through existing channels and institutions to deliver insurance education outside the industry. Also coming along is promoting the highest standards of professionalism by maintaining the highest ethical standards of discipline. On this she insists, “We will ensure strict adherence to our code of conduct.”
On the remaining acronyms Recognised Institution and Enhanced Capacity, she said on the first, the Institute would establish a credible awards programme to be integrated into its annual Insurance Week where talents and achievements of individuals and institutions would be showcased to inspire others. The second, capacity building would encase strengthening the CIIN secretariat to deliver on the ambitious goals and also building expertise in niche areas of marine and aviation insurance.
