The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has introduced a new licensing portal aimed at boosting efficiency in insurance operations.

Effective August 1, 2024, all applications for insurance agent licenses registration and renewal will be exclusively processed through the newly launched portal at https://agent.naicom.gov.ng, a press release from the commission said.

The initiative, designed to streamline the licensing process, promises to simplify procedures and expedite approvals by minimizing manual intervention.

 This strategic move is anticipated to elevate operational efficiency and elevate the overall service quality for both agents and insurance companies.

NAICOM has instructed that any pending applications previously submitted on the old portal must be resubmitted through the new platform.

 In light of this development, all registered agents and insurance firms are urged to familiarize themselves with the new system and adjust their workflows accordingly to stay compliant and ensure a seamless licensing process.
