Newly sworn-in chairman of Enugu East Local Government Area, Pst.Engr.Beloved-Dan Anike has promised the people of the Local Government Area to sign the Enugu City Exclusive Rights Charter few days after his assumption of office.

The Charter according to him will create room for uniform development of all the communities in the Area.

He stated that the era of unequal development of the areas within the Local Government was over, stressing that his administration will give equal opportunities to all the people in the Local Government Area whether indigenes or non-indigenes.

Pastor Beloved-Dan who made the promise after his swearing in last weekend at Nkwor-Nike headquarters of the Local also promised to key into Governor Peter Mbah’s developmental strides to grow the economy of the Local Government from its present low level to an enviable heights.

“If Gov. Mbah is growing the state’s economy from 4 billion dollars to 30 billion dollars, nothing will stop us from doing so in Enugu East”

He used the opportunity to announce ban on illegal collection of levies in the Local Government,  promising that his administration will deal disicively with people who default on the order.

The ceremony attracted who is who in Enugu politics, the clergy,  party faithful and general public.

Doyen of Enugu State politics and former Governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo and his wife Barr. Dr. Pat Nwobodo graced the occasion among other dignitaries.
