First Bank Invests In Arts , Entertainment With “A Heart On The Line” YouTube Series

First Bank of Nigeria has reiterated its dedication to bolstering the arts and entertainment sector in Nigeria through its recent sponsorship of the YouTube series “A Heart on the Line”.

In a statement by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of First Bank Nigeria, Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu, represented by Mr. Idowu Thompson, Group Executive of Private Banking and Wealth Management, it was highlighted that the bank’s participation in the project is a key part of its initiatives to advance Nigerian arts and culture.

“A Heart on the Line” is a captivating movie that delves into themes of love, family, and resilience, offering profound insights into the essence of love, family, and sacrifice.

Thompson elaborated that First Bank’s backing of the arts transcends mere sponsorship, as it aims to showcase Nigerian culture and creativity on a global scale.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the bank’s involvement in the project is also geared towards engaging younger generations and fostering a harmonious exchange of ideas between different age groups.

The series is currently accessible on YouTube, with Thompson hinting at potential future distribution on other platforms.

When questioned about the bank’s rationale for supporting the arts, Thompson explained that the arts and entertainment industry significantly contributes to the Nigerian economy, with the film sector alone contributing $600 million to the GDP in 2021.

He underscored that First Bank’s support for the arts is geared towards promoting Nigerian culture, generating employment opportunities, and enhancing Nigeria’s global visibility.

In her remarks, film producer Ms. Abimbola Craig expressed gratitude to the bank for bringing the movie to fruition through its financial backing.
