The Anambra State Governorship election has come to conclusion as INEC declared APGA candidate ,Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo as winner.
In a Press briefing by APC Candidate, Prince (Dr) Nicholas Chukwujekwu Ukachukwu commended all APC supporters for coming out en masse and vote despite intimidations by the rulling party, All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA).
He said that the APC Deputy Governor candidate, Hon.(Mrs)Uche Ekwunife was attacked by APGA supporters which left so many casualties. He said that APC Deputy Governor candidate is on the run for safety. Also,the house of an APC supporter was burnt down by APGA supporters and up till the time of the press release no arrest has been made by the Police.
In his statement, Ukachukwu
said” for now ,we want to collect all information from the polling units to State level which will enable us know the next step to take” he concluded. “
He also applauded the media for their excellent coverage during the election.
