The Anambra State Police command has made a significant breakthrough in their ongoing investigation into child trafficking, arresting a 37-year-old female suspect, Ifeoma Success Anthony, and rescuing 33 underage girls from a house in Awkuzu. The operation was triggered by a distress report from relatives of three abducted girls, who were taken from Ebonyi State in September 2025.
Preliminary investigations suggest the building was used for child trafficking and prostitution, owned by Mrs. Ngozi Nnanyelugo, who’s currently at large. The police are working to apprehend her and identify other accomplices.
This recent bust follows a similar operation in July 2025, where 11 children were rescued from an interstate child trafficking syndicate operating between Adamawa and Anambra states.
