The Anambra State Police Command has taken note of the show of passion and support expressed by the Commissioner for Education Anambra State towards the Nigeria Police Force.
The Command observes that this positive disposition reflects the growing acceptance and support of the Nigeria Police by Ndi Anambra and serves as encouragement for more qualified indigenes of the State to consider a career in policing.
The Command also wishes to State that the Commissioner of Education Mrs Ngozi Chuma Udeh is not a Police Officer, but one of the volunteer committed police-loving individuals who aside from her appointment by the State Government still chose to deposit her own quota of security-conscious citizen by serving the nation through joining the Police Supernumerary unit.
The members of this unit are not regular Police Officers. Although they wear uniforms, they cannot carry arms or perform full policing duties such as general patrols, criminal investigations, or public arrests. They can, however, assist otherwise, when necessary.
Given the above, the Command reiterates its commitment to strengthening community partnerships, promoting professionalism, and working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure safety and security across the State.
The Command further encourages eligible youths of Anambra State to take advantage of ongoing and future recruitment opportunities into the Nigeria Police Force, as their participation remains vital to effective community policing and sustainable security.
