According to PRNigeria, speaking at the one of the events in Kwannawa Community, the Health commissioner in Sokoto State, Dr Mohammed Ali commended the efforts of the Nigerian Army in curtailing banditry and other sundry crimes.

The Commissioner also appreciated the gesture of providing medical care to the locals saying ‘this will go a long way in strengthening the Civil Military relationship and the collaboration between the host community and the Ministry of Health Sokoto State’.

Earlier in his remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division Nigerian Army Major General Hakeem Otiki represented by the Commander 8 Division Garrison Brigadier General Innocent Ollota said the event is aimed at reaching out to the less privileged who could not afford medical bills.

He further enjoined the beneficiaries to take advantage the outreach to check their health status as it is said ‘Health is Wealth’. The GOC also promised that more projects will be initiated to boast the Civil Military relationship in Sokoto State.

The Chief of Standard and Evaluation (Army) Major General AO Shodunke also represented Chief of Army Staff at Lagos event.

The outreach is part of activities lined up for this years NADCEL where residents are treated for various ailments which include eye test and treatment , issuance of glasses , general body examination ,dental checkup and treatment, dispensation of drugs etc.

Other highlight of the event include; Health Talk, Free Dental care, Free Eye care, free medical check up, free voluntary HIV/AIDS counselling/testing, free laboratory test and free Drugs.

The medical outreach which is being observed simultaneously in all formations and units of the NA are without any cost implications to the patients.
