Tragedy On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway: Twelve Passengers Burnt In Fatal Accident

12 burnt to death, four injured in Lagos-Ibadan expressway auto crashIn a devastating incident along the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, twelve passengers were tragically burnt in a horrific accident.
The unfortunate event involved a Mazda bus bearing registration number DDA733 XA, occurring near Malo in the Ogere area of the expressway.
Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, released a statement on Tuesday detailing the grim aftermath of the accident.
 According to Okpe, four other passengers sustained injuries in the crash and were promptly rushed to Patmag Hospital in Ogere for medical attention.
The preliminary investigation pointed towards wrongful overtaking as the suspected cause of the lone crash.
 The ill-fated decision by the bus driver to overtake recklessly resulted in a loss of control, causing the bus to collide with the road divider and erupt in flames .
Akinwunmi Fasakin, the Sector Commander of the Ogun Sector Command, expressed deep concern over the reckless behavior of some motorists on the highway who flagrantly disregard traffic regulations.
Fasakin extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the tragic accident and conveyed his wishes for a swift recovery to those who survived the ordeal.
