An Enugu based community leader and politician, Hon. Livinus Okwor has challenged Civil Servants in the state to double their efforts in their service delivery to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture in the approval of a New Minimum Wage of N80,000 for them.

In an interview with NewsCorner in Enugu, Hon. Okwor said that the Governor had never for once hidden his love and appreciation for the civil servants for their role in developing the state, the climax of which is the approval of the new minimum wage.

According to Hon. Okwor who was a one time House of Representatives aspirant for the Enugu East/Isiuzo Federal Constituency, no government can succeed without an effective workforce of committed individuals. He expressed happiness that the Enugu state governor being aware of the importance of this segment of the society decided to reward them with a good monthly take home package.

According to the People’s Democratic Party stalwart, ,”While the federal government and some other state governors are busy debating on how to pay N70,000 minimum wage to their workers, our miracle working governor approved a generous sum of N80,000 for the state workers.

” The only way the workers could pay him back is by going extra miles in their areas of work to help him achieve his goal of growing the state’s economy from 4 billion dollars to 30 billion dollars.
