The Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Owan Enoh, has commended the Coca-Cola System for its investment in a Packaging Collection Hub, describing it as a transformative step toward sustainable industrialization in Nigeria.

Speaking at the commissioning of the facility in Apapa, Lagos, on January 31, 2025, Enoh hailed the initiative by Coca-Cola Nigeria and the Nigerian Bottling Company Limited, the local bottling partner of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (CCHBC). He emphasized that the project aligns with the Federal Government’s vision of a circular economy where waste is repurposed into economic assets.

“Waste is no longer waste—it is a resource, an economic asset, and a tool for wealth creation,” the Minister declared, stressing that industries must integrate sustainability to remain competitive.

Enoh highlighted the hub’s potential to create jobs, empower waste collectors, and establish a resilient industrial value chain. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to policies that strengthen industrial clusters, deepen local production, and promote backward integration.

“This is the blueprint for the future: industries that innovate, manufacturers that take responsibility, and a government that enables prosperity through smart policies,” he concluded.

The Packaging Collection Hub marks a significant step in Nigeria’s journey toward a more sustainable and globally competitive industrial ecosystem.
