Dangote dismisses 109 workers over theft of company’s properties

109 workers have been dismissed by giant multi firm Dangote Group. They were dismissed at the Obajana Cement Company, Kogi State after been found guilty of certain offences.

This was announced to journalists by the coordinator of the company’s patrol team, Mr.Abdulahi Magaji who said the sacked workers were among the 244 suspects arrested between May and November accused of stealing the company’s properties and other items.

He also disclosed that another 115 workers were being held in prison pending the determination of their cases noting the arrest of one Samaila Yakubu who collaborated with other drivers and buyers to steal the company’s trucks.

He also explained the efforts of the patrol team had helped lessen the amount of accidents in the fleet.

According to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Dangote Group patrol team is charged with the duties of preventing illegal haulage and reckless driving by the company’s drivers and also preventing the diversion of products, driving of Dangote trucks by unauthorized drivers and enlightening them about traffic and road rules.
