The Director General of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Mr. Osita Aboloma has called on staff of the organisation to always ren­der quality services and be good ambassadors in order to change the perceptions of some individ­uals about the agency.

Aboloma, made this call during a familiarization tour of SON’s offices in Kaduna and Kano states, commended the staff for their hard work and dedication to duties, and lauded the good works that holds way at the regional office of the organisation.

According to a statement by the Head, Public Relations of the organisation, Mr. Mathias Bassey, Aboloma said SON must not be viewed as oppressors but “van­guards of quality and facilitators of businesses.”

He promised to provide ade­quate funding for the states of­fices, improve on the provision of equipment and materials need­ed to aid staff in achieving SON’s mandate, and ensure that staff welfare receives adequate attention at all times.

While enjoining the staff to al­ways update themselves of hap­penings in the organisation, the SON boss said under his leader­ship, the organisation will oper­ate a reward system where staff would be rewarded for hard work and ingenuity.
