…As FAAN Begins ICAO Sponsored Training

The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Engr. Saleh Dunoma has said that risk management is a critical variable in the aviation industry.

This is just as he urged member states to cooperate more to ensure proper coordination in dealing with rising risks and terrorist attacks.

He stated this while declaring open the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) sponsored inaugural Workshop at the Aviation Security Training Centre, Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.

The commencement of the training followed the certification and designation of the FAAN training centre as an ICAO Aviation Security Training Centre on October 9, 2018,

While declaring the workshop open, Dunoma, who was represented by the Director of Engineering Services, Engr. Salisu Daura stated that the workshop came at the right time considering the fact that civil aviation is increasingly being targeted by terrorists due to the immense impact it has on human victims, material damages and the integrity of a nation.

Daura further noted that the FAAN/ICAO Aviation Security Training Centre has the capacity to meet the training needs for the West and Central African regions and to contribute substantially to the development and improvement of Aviation Security Training globally.
