101-Year Old Onitsha Business Icon Passes On

A popular business tycoon, from Onitsha, Anambra State, has passed on at the age of 101.

Family members say the Late centurion, Chief James Okoye Ukatu Ezeofor, who held the title Ezeofor VII of Alor, died peacefully in the first week of December 2019.

Chief Ukatu was born at Alor in Anambra State in 1918, had his early education in Onitsha before venturing into business.

He is reputed in the community as a pioneer businessman who had sponsored numerous professionals and raised over 100 entrepreneurs in diverse kinds of businesses.

The Late Ezeofor the VII, who had been on the throne for 20 years before his demise, was known as a jovial and cheerful leader who never discriminated against anyone.

The Late paramount ruler, an accomplished person worthy of emulation, will no doubt be missed by members of his community, friends, family and a host of others who are poised to celebrate the exemplary life he lived.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace in the bosom of the Lord. Amen.
