Anambra Marks 2022 Lecture/Awards , Cultural Day Amidst Pomp In Lagos

It was a beauty to behold the greatest assemblage of Lagos based Ndi Anambra amidst pomp and pageantry celebrating their 2022  Lecture/ Awards and Cultural Day in Lagos recently.
The events hosted by the Association of Anambra State Development Unions (AASDU) Lagos witnessed presentation of prestigious Awards to illustrious  sons and daughters of Anambra State who have excelled in their various industries at the Villa Dome event centre, Ikoyi .
Meanwhile the highlights of the Cultural Day which took place a not the Police College Training Field , Ikeja, Lagos were cultural dances , masquerade displays , match past from various town unions in Anambra State.
This celebration ,also serves as a reunion , measure to constantly remind Anambra people in diaspora of their cultural heritage , value orientation and uniqueness of their culture.
In his welcome address , Chief Sir Amechi Ebeledike , President of AASDU expressed delight saying ,” today I am highly elated to see this galaxy of professionals , opinion moulders,  philanthropic of repute , nation-builders , men and women of substance , tested community leaders ,  industry giants participants in the critical sectors of our economy and most importantly key players in Anambra project and lovers of Igbo in general . Our people will continue to maintain perfect integration with our host states and other parts of the federation . “
“We have these two major events namely lecture and awards preceding the cultural day these two events are reminders of the age-long tradition of reward for good works and celebrations of a rich but often neglected cultural heritage . “
AASDU president therefore called on all and sundry to  support their  dream projects which include acquisition of a befitting Civic center  in Lagos , ” support for Anambra  people who are faced with challenges in Lagos and its environs , support for the state government in providing the required solution to our challenges and establishment of the dream industrial village and land with the expected industrial revolution of Southeastern region “.
He however appreciated the effort of AASDU stakeholders , Anambra state government, Prof Chukwuma Soludo , Royal fathers and others for their continuous support and determination to make Anambra State great.
The Keynote guest speaker at the 2022 AASDU lecture and award day was a seasoned prolific writer, Mr. Ifeanyi Igwebike Mbanefo. He was a former Manager Corporate Communication and Public Affairs, Nigeria LNG Limited.
The royal father of the Lecture/Award day was HRH Igwe UN Amb. Godwin Ogo Ezeilo , Obu Nanka of Nanka while the Cultural day royal father was HRM Sir Gerald Obunadike Mbamalu , Ezeoranyelu 1, Eze Ojoto 111.
The Awardees include: Chief Emeka Anyaoku, GCVO, CFR, CON who was given the Special Award of Excellence in career and profession.
Chief Hon. Mbazulike Amaechi, Dara Akunwafor who was given a posthumous Special Award of excellence in Leadership and service to humanity;
Rev Prof. Yusufu Ameh Obaje – Special Award of excellence in Leadership and Service to Humanity
Chief Dr. Christopher Ikechi Ezeh MFR – Special Award of Excellence in career and profession
Ndi Onuekwusi – Special Award of Excellence in Career and Profession
Major General Obi Abel Umahi (rtd) – Special Award of Excellence in Career and Profession
Major General Emeka Onwuamaegbu (rtd) – Special Award of Excellence in Career and Profession
