SON To Broaden Relationship With Steel Industry

Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke appointed Director General of Standards  Organisation of Nigeria | Food Safety Africa Magazine

The Director-General (D-G) of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Dr. Ifeanyi Okeke, have paid a courtesy visit to KAM Holdings, one of the foremost steel manufacturing companies in Lagos giving them hope of a more robust relationship with the steel industry.

The DG while engaging Dr. Kamoru Yusuf, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive, KAM Holdings in discussions about the role of regulatory bodies like SON, noted that the Agency ensures the highest standards of quality and safety for steel manufacturing in Nigeria.
Dr. Okeke explained the  importance of collaboration between regulatory authorities and industry players like KAM Holdings to maintain and enhance product standards.
Dr. Yusuf responded by emphasizing the commitment of KAM Holdings to producing top-tier steel products that meets the rigorous standards set by SON.
He stressed the company’s dedication to quality, innovation, and safety in its manufacturing processes.
According to the DG, “The visit served as an opportunity to explore potential areas of cooperation, standards compliance, and how they can collectively contribute to the continued growth of the Nigerian steel industry.
“This visit reinforced the shared commitment of upholding product quality and safety within the steel manufacturing sector. It signified a broader effort to foster strong partnerships between regulatory authorities and businesses, ultimately driving economic growth, creating jobs, and ensuring the welfare of Nigerian consumers.”
