Dr. Nnamani Inaugurates Boreholes Built By U S Based Philantropist.

Enugu govt inaugurates 3 boreholes built by US-based philanthropist in  Enugu community - Ikenga Online

In a bid to key into the exponential developmental strides of Gov. Mbah of Enugu State, the State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Dr. Felix Nnanyelugo Nnamani last Saturday inaugurated three boreholes built by a United States based illustrious son of the state,  Sunday Egbo for the people of Amofia Amagu Community in the state.

Agency of Nigeria (NAN) , Amofia Amagu in Nara Unateze has for decades being without safe drinking water. The measure is to reduce the longstanding water challenges facing the people of the community.
Inaugurating the project, Dr. Nnamani who represented Gov. Mbah explained that the three Solar Powered boreholes located at the strategic centres of Obodo Egbo Square, Obodo Ikoro Amagu Square and Ogo Agu Ihuoma village would alleviate the difficulties the people are facing in getting clean and safe drinking water.
Dr. Nnamani who commended Mr. Egbo for his philanthropic gesture by thinking about home and investing in it stated that what he has done was in line with Gov. Mbah’s policy of providing quality drinking water to people in the rural areas. ” The Governor said I should thank you immensely” he told Egbo.
The Commissioner noted that in the past 20 years, there has been no water in Enugu, adding that during his electioneering campaign, Dr. Mbah promised to fix water in Enugu within 180 days which looked impossible.
“But today, we have 70 million litres of water as projects sited at 9th Mile and has generated another 50 million litres at Oji River Water Scheme making 120 million litres of daily water supply for Enugu metropolis for their consumption and use.
“We did not only change all the pressure pumps, we changed the asbestos pipes to modern ones and also cleaned all the reservoirs in Enugu to ensure quality water.
“There was no quality assurance of water until the Governor decided to give Enugu people clean and safe drinking water
He explained that the challenge the government is facing currently is in the area of reticulation lines, pointing out that all the lines that were available previously were asbestos lines installed by the colonial masters that have gone bad. According to him, “As we generate 120 million litres of water, u will find the pipes bursting due to weakness of the asbestos pipes
Dr. Nnamani used the opportunity to comment on Gov. Mbah’s achievement in office within a short time in office. He mentioned education, especially the SMART schools, health through building of 250 Health Centres, massive roads rehabilitation which include the building of 81 urban roads, rural roads not left.
He called on the people to keep supporting Gov. Mbah’s administration to give them the Enugu State of their choice.
